The movie talks about Israel several times, but even though the modern nation of Israel wasn't officially founded until 1948, the Jews have always referred to themselves collectively as Israel in reference to the ancient Israelite kingdom and their ancestry.

Slumdog MIllionare

This movie was not so good. It surely could have been summed up in less than 2 hours. For some reason I just couldn't get into it but maybe you will like it? I personally give it about 2 stars out of a possible 5.

One mistake they made in the movie is where Salim and Jamal are working the crowds at the Taj Mahal in 2002, Jamal has a 2006 $10 bill in his hand.

Cast Away

Great movie! I would definitely recommend watching this movie at least once. Tom Hanks of course is brilliant as always. One of my favorite actors. Helen Hunt plays a small role in it as well.

Interesting facts
Some of the 'desert island' footage was shot on the mainland with a highway in the background that had to be removed.
When Chuck buries Albert Miller, he scratches "1950-1995" on the rock face above the grave. When Chuck examines Miller's wallet, you can see a close-up of Miller's New South Wales, Australia, driver's license, with a birth date in 1949.

Duplicity

The preview looked awful and possibly ruined the whole movie for me. Especially at the beginning where I can't play the movie till it's done showing half the movie to me. I have to watch movies with an open mind otherwise they can be ruined. Even if its the slightest detail it still could ruin it for me. I give it 1.5 stars out of a possible 5. The beginning after the title of the movie shows is hilarious though. The only good past of the movie in my opinion. Co-starring Julia Roberts and Clive Owen Rated PG-13, 2 hours and 5 minutes released in 2009.

The Maiden Heist

Kind of a goofy comedy.

The Invention Of Lying

The Classical music played in the movie is Lud wig Beethoven's 9th Symphony, First Movement.

There is one mistake in the movie though. As Partridge lies dead on the mortuary table, a pulse is visible in his neck! Whoops! Hahaha

The 4th Kind

Ok if you really want to enjoy this movie don't watch the trailer... I thought it was a goodie...

Would it be possible if there wasn't intelligent life out there... I think not...

Avatar

I finally got to see the movie it seems everyone has been talking about. Avatar! I would have to say not bad, well worth watching at least once. It was a bit more PG-13 than I would have liked it to be but still a good movie. It's a little long though, 2 hours and 42 minutes but interesting plot behind the whole thing. Released in 2009 starring Sam Worthington,Zoe Salanda,Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang. Written and directed by James Cameron. Golden Globe-winning CGI odyssey has broken many box office records.

Law Abiding Citizen

Rated R 1 hour 49 minutes long released in 2009. I was surprised at how good this movie actual was. I thought it wasn't going to be any good. The ending has a nice twist although I was hoping for a different ending but I guess you can't always get what you want right?

I liked this movie quite a bit and I'm considering watching it again before sending it back to Netflix. It's a Sci-Fi Thriller with a twist. Starring Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster. Rated R for strong horror violence and language. Directed by Christian Alvart, the screenplay was written by Travis Milloy but the story was written by both Alvart and Milloy.
It's tough to find good Sci-Fi movies now a days but this one is worth watching I think.

Mirrors

This movies was pretty good but I could have done without the family parts. Like the wife freaking out saying "your scaring the children" when all he was doing is taking down mirrors. For some reason the wife annoyed me throughout the whole movie.
Then at the end the mirrors explode about twenty times. I get it the mirrors are done with. You don't have to show twenty scenes of it happening.
Other than that I thought the very ending had a good twist to it.
Starring Kiefer Sutherland and Paula Patton. There is an unrated version and a theatrical version. I watched the Unrated Version myself. Written,Produced and Directed by Alexandre Aja. 110 minutes long

Here is the trailer

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard

I started this comedy not knowing anything about it. Being a comedy lover myself I thought it was a bit raunchy but in a funny manner and that's the way most comedies are. Pretty funny yet predictable in the end and worth watching, so if your into comedies like myself than I would suggest watching "The Goods: .Live Hard, Sell Hard". Also known as "The Goods: The Don Ready Story".

Star Trek (2009)

The latest version of yet another Star Trek like we don't have enough of them already floating around. Honestly though since I do like some of the Star Trek shows and some of the movies this one in particular was pretty good considering. After you get past the Hollywood crap that they feel the need to put in every movie. So I personally could be a bit bias. I've heard reviews from people that didn't even like Star Trek but this one they claim was a good movie for them to watch. I have also heard "oh no, not another Star Trek!" Which I sympathize. I was thinking the same thing. But it turned out to be not so bad so whether you are a trekkie or not I would say at least give the movie a chance and then decide.
Starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nemoy, Eric Bana,Bruce Greenwood,Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg.
127 minutes, Rated PG-13 for sci-fi action and violence and brief sexual content.

Land Of The Lost

Groundhog Day

Since it's Groundhogs Day again it reminded me of this movie.

Cast also including Andie MacDowell,Chris Elliot,Stephen Tobolowsky,Brian Doyle-Murray,Marita Geraghty,Angela Paton,Rick Ducommun,Rick Overton and more.

Paranormal Activity

An Independent Horror Film written and directed by Oren Peli.
It premiered at the Screamfest Film Festival in the US on October 14, 2007, and was shown at the Slamdance Film Festival on January 18, 2008. The film received a limited release in several US cities on October 9, 2009, and had a nationwide release on October 16, 2009.
The film has earned over $100 million at the US box office alone, on a reported budget of $15,000. Paranormal Activity turned out to be one of the most profitable movies ever made, based on how much was spent compared to it's return investment. However, these figures are somewhat difficult to verify independently and likely excludes marketing costs.
Katie Featherston as Katie, Micha Sloat as Micha,
Mark Fredrichs as the Psychic,Amber Armstrong as Amber,Ashley Palmer as Diane (girl on Internet).
Overall I thought the movie was a bit slow at first but the ending gets better.

103 minutes directed by John Maybury produced by George Clooney,Peter Guber and Steven Soderbergh.

Here is the trailer although in my opinion it gives most of the movie away.

The Hangover

This comedy didn't exactly have me rolling on the floor laughing but it was kind of humorous. Maybe I expected a little more out of it than I should have? I don't know.
Directed by Todd Phillips Rated R for pervasive language, sexual content including nudity, and some drug material. The Rated R version is 100 minutes. Or of course there is an Unrated Version which is 108 minutes.

Angels And Demons

Starring Tom Hanks rated PG-13. The movie is a bit slow but the ending has a little twist to it. Written by Dan Brown set up as a sequel to The Da Vinci Code based on the character Robert Langdon a symbologist and consists of religion vs. science plot.
Directed by Ron Howard.
Some of the other cast members include Ewan Mcgregor,Aylete Zurer and Stellan Skarsgar.
I would say it was worth watching once but I wasn't all that impressed by the movie overall.

The Mist

The way it questions religion got to me. How it's easily misconstrued but I hate to bring religion into this, because in fact, it is a good movie. The choices we make could be the end of us and the ones we love. The ending is the best part. If you have not seen this movie try to make it all the way to the end.
Based on a Novella by Steven King
